On this night when he came home
crying, and dirty from head to toe.
His mama came to him and asked him what was wrong.
He said he was sorry he was gone so long,
but the older boys shoved him in the dirt,
and beat him up too.
All she could think to say was
that's okay, I forgive you.
For times come and times go,
and some days I just don't know
what you've done today.
But when I see that you've come home
there's only one thing I can say to you
I forgive you.
A few years later when he was grown
that boy's daddy died
In ten years they hadn't been close,
but that boy still sat there and cried.
Through the service he stood up,
looked at his dad from the pew, and said
I forgive you.
For times come and times go,
and some days I just don't know
where you are today.
And even though we ain't been close
there's nothing I can really do,
but I forgive you.
As he sat there and cried
a small wooden cross caught his eye,
and it was then he realized...
that the Lord was there for him all his life.
And he looked up as he cried,
and the Lord was lookin in his eyes,
and he said...
I forgive you...
For years come and years go,
and I will always know
what you've done today.
And when I see that you've come home
there's only one thing that I'll say to you
I forgive you.
i am wondering if You showed this to your dad?, i am saying nothing *smiles* i am just wondering ..........
