City Lights

My visions a bit hazed

My minds beyond dazed

I'm living day by day

Within a city; decaying.

I can swear she smiled

The winds passing wildly

The vasts plains of awareness

Has got it's hold on me.

I closed my eyes slowly

Taking in this serenity

A home away from my home

I no longer feel alone.

This city doesn't exsist

It's stuck within my mind

A place to hide, resist

All the pain in my life.

All these faces are a blur

This corruption has no real word

No place within the sad world

Could ever make me feel whole.

But theres a place in mind

Where my character came to life

A place beyond the wasteland;

A place over the city lights.

I sense longing and beauty... what a beautiful poem. A poem about changing wave links, having that special place. This poem truly speaks volumes to me. I've never really had that place in my mind where I can call 'home' but every time I read this I get the perfect image of it. Incredible what your poetry can do to the human mind.
