It's the one thing that catches me up every time.
It's the one thing that reminds me of you,
And the thing that makes me want us back too.

A single melody makes me remember a thousand memories.
It's always the love songs that do me in.
They remind me of how things used to have been.

A broken country singer really seems to speak to my heart.
They know exactly what I want to say,
And they definitely know I wish you'd come back around my way.

You told me you wouldn't care.
But you still say you miss being together,
Like the songs says, you don't have to say forever.

I wish I could undo it all.
They say to hold onto the love we're making,
It's always a chance worth taking.

I wish I could have had some warning.
Why didn't I listen to the voice on the radio say you're gonna miss this,
I'll never feel anything as great as that bliss.

I guess now it's time to put up new strings,
But I don't know if I can truly cut the old,
She says I should be used to it, I don't want to be alone in the cold.

And yeah I should have listened and said no,
I don't know why I thought anyone would be good enough,
I guess I choose to make life this rough...
