And where in the world are we to fall?

Is it near to where we hope to be?

Or is it miles apart from you and me?

Are we to fall asleep with tears in our eyes?

And on our minds your whispered lies...?

Are we to dream of the lonely fireflies,

As they light up the night's darkened skies.

And are we to listen to your broken lullabies,

Accompanied only by our empty sighs,

And silenced painful cries.
