I am me!
Even though you hit and abuse me
Even when you call me names
I am me!
Even though your world tortures me
Even when your world calls me unfit to live
I am me!
When the pressure of social order comes down
When you use me to get back at your ex
I stand tall and say, “I am me!”
Who are you to tell me to conform to the norm
Who are you to tell me what I think and feel
I look into your evil eyes and repeat, “I am me!”
Even “Death” is afraid of me
The “Darkness” splits apart to shine light on me
I take my last breath and yell at the top of my lungs, “I AM ME!!
So step back and listen to my heartbeat “Thump, thump, thump”
Now you know that I wasn’t that bump on a log
I look into space and see billions upon billions of lives lookin’ down on me and
I turn my head up high and turn my palms to the sky and fall down on “Mother Earth”
and one last time repeat my life long phrase… I am me!
