A bird in a cage that will never fly
With the taut to look out the window and see the sky
The songs she sings are a call for help
But no one will listen to her
We all turn away from the broken heart
You hear from her prison
She beats on the bars
She sings until she sees the stars
Then a sheet covers her view
And all she sees is herself in the mirror
The tears will come falling down
In a dark cold room
The sun shows through your window
You want to leave don’t you?
But you have no where to fly
Lay on my lap let me comfort you
I’ll wipe the tears from your eyes
A little sweet bird that will never fly
With the taut to look out the window and see the sky
The song she sings are a call for help
But no one will listen to her
Unlatch the door and let her fly away
You can’t keep her forever in a cage
Someday her spirit will drift to the sky
And away your little song bird will fly
