If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today...
Shush, come follow.
Bring your perfectly balanced skeleton,
filthy and barefoot.
Tread carefully upon these
wet leaves and dank earth
For this landscape may swallow
your white face into it's granite heart.
Quick, hurry now.
Beat down the boundaries of this wild wood,
with your body and mind.
In this spiteful undergrowth
we will reap and plough
a thousand years of the past,
that lay smothered by the present.
Look! Almost there.
Bathe in the beautiful deep river where
the water runs cold.
Sleep sound on it's silent bed,
That lures your pale face
And perfectly glowing flesh,
and lies beneath with many a weed.
Shush, do not cry
Never shall you be alone where you lay
In your watery grave
I will never leave your side.
Beautiful white face,
do not stay alone in the
Dark wood at night when all is silent.
Beautiful white face!
Stay with me forever,
where the water runs cold.
Loved the title! The poem was interesting...I enjoyed reading!
