SOME TIME IN HEAVEN

Tired after a long night at work,
As stealthy shadows creepily did lurk,
My eyes closed themselves and in my dream,
I found myself in the arms of my queen.
With a smile she clung to me and said,
As her colour from white turned rose-red,
"O my king! Welcome, now unwind yourself,
This is the realm where peace you did wed."
Time had no meaning as long as I was there,
Without caring for the when and the where,
Lost in the world of my spiritual beloved,
My heart, mind and soul, for nothing did care.
A garden where harmony and bliss reigned,
My beloved and I were like beings unchained,
Unchained from this earth and its influence,
And heavenly joys on both of us rained.
When my eyes opened I was alone in my cave,
Peaceful and content with what my rapture gave,
Now I know that there is an abode where love,
Along with my beloved can meet and not crave,
The peace and the bliss, which remain hidden,
From the conscious and where dreams beckon,
The pilgrim me -- in the search of truth --
The subconscious takes me to my lost Eden.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Narrating a dream as it happened. The queen mentioned in the poem is not to be named...let her be mysteriously mine...and just mine.
