AN APPEAL TO MY FELLOW POETS AND ALL THINKERS
Saladin the Saracen
Allowed every Christian
To follow their faith
And stay in Jerusalem.
So what if Obama does
Okay a Muslim mosque
Near Ground Zero
Why is all the fuss?
Let us all men and women
Learn the basic fact first
That only good and evil
Are two different facts.
So let the good gather
And become the stronger force
And let not evil prevail
Nor let the bad conquer...
We are all children
Of Adam and of Eve
So let the good among us
Spread this good belief.
All religions of God
Sent down to holy men
Teach mercy, love and peace
It is the creed of Satan
That makes the bad increase.
So O ye wise and thinking souls
Having the power to write
And convince with your words
Join me in my goals...
To triumph against the bad
And the wicked and the cruel
Being patient yet courageous
Yet hopeful and never sad.
One day we shall see
That goodness will overthrow
The legacy of all badness
Which Lucifer did sow.
Our loving God is One
And the Truth too is One
So let not the devilish
Break our strong union.
Good is the message of God
And its opposite is ugly
So with your hand in mine
Let us break the evil rod.
