At times I feel shackled,
Like Samson, along Biblical lines,
Deceived, blinded and being forced,
To bow before the Dagons of my times.
At times I feel like taking,
The swords of Hamza, Ali and Hussain,
To battle the tyrannous forces that rule,
Every good thing existing.
God helped Samson in the valley of Lehii,
And helped Hamza and Ali at Badr,
God stood by Hussain in blazing Karbala,
And so when Samson was chained to a pillar.
These evil forces of my age,
One day shall be brought down just like Dagon,
Like the idols shattered by the Messenger,
Like the tyrants to whom Hussain
Did not pay homage.
God willing, I will be His warrior,
Of Abraham and Muhammad, a follower,
Like Samson, Hamza, Ali and Hussain,
Shall I (God willing) weed out terror.
May my God Allah, the God of all worlds,
Listen to my pleas, my prayers,
May He strengthen me and make me strong,
So that I destroy all serpents hidden and curled.
O God, praiseworthy art Thou only,
I pray to thee to hear and help me,
Let me help and fulfil Thy purpose,
Let me vanquish forces of tyranny.
