SHAZI

O dear Shazi of my carefree days!

Do you remember those innocent ways,

Do you remember those wintry morns,

When you would at your beloved did gaze?

O dear Shazi of my troubled times!

How often have you proved your worth,

Not caring whether it was night or day,

Whenever I wanted, you came right away.

O dear Shazi of my heart and mind!

Can I ever, a soul like you, find?

Always understanding patient and kind,

To my follies always remaining blind.

O Shazi of my present and past!

Hope that our bond forever lasts,

Forever may I too be there for you,

The way you have been - honest and true.

O Shazi, O my best human friend!

By God! Our friendship will never end,

We were brought together by Him most high,

So how can our bond wilt, wither or die?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Yet another poem about my best human friend Shehzad Latif/Shazi. A better pal no man or woman hath than me and I am grateful for this to my Almighty.
