A Twentieth Century Girl Makes A Choice

Dear Love,

Some day, soon I hope,

He will look at me

as you look at me,

And I him

as I you.

But I fear that day shall never come

for it shall always be you,

my love,

for ever.

I will always love you.

Until the last star falls from the sky,

Until the last angel falls from the heavens,

And then I will love you still.

I will love you until the moon loves the sun

as I love you.

Until my last breath,

Until the last beat of my heart,

And then I will love you still.

Therefore I fear I cannot love him

for he is not you

and you, thank god,

are not him

and that makes all the difference

to my heart,

and my choice.

I choose you my love

Forever and always

and then some.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Apologies if this is bad and totally fails to rhyme or form any basic metre etc. I don't really class my work as poems rather personal musings so I guess this is just what came to mind. I hope you enjoyed reading and thank you!
