Broadway
The great white way
Why the hell do they call it that?
With their Macy's, Vicki S', Mickey D's and the B, D, F and V.
Yea, that would be that square named after some guy, Herald I think
Go about 8 blocks up and you got a whole bunch of steets that wear time on their sleeves, almost literally
Times Square
Where celebs, tourists and locals alike come together
Big signs
Bright lights
7th Avenue Shuffle
42 Street Shuttle
The glitz and glammer as a background to the people's chatter
All the way up to the 50's to that big circle named after he who sailed the ocean blue in 1492
But sometimes I just want to get away from it all
To a place where the buildings aren't so tall
To a place where you'd get more time for less rush
Where the nights are just plain hush hush
Anywhere that's tranquil so I can hear what my mind says
Anywhere that's quiet while I'm away from BK
Something like L.I.or even N.J.
Too quiet huh? Buddy, you're way off Broadway
So pick a Rockaway
Choose a Hampton
Or how about a pair of Amboys while you're at it?
Or a little bit - OOPS! I mean, Elizabeth?
Or how about Douglaston, Hollis, Huntington or the Hills? (forest, that is)
New Brunswick Cartahret, Rahway
Woodridge...oh wait, I meant Ridgewood or Bushwick
At this point, anything would sound like heaven
Whether it be via the 116 or the 10:07
Far Rockaway or Long Beach
Long Branch or I - 95
Either way, I'm out the door
But just for a day, no more
Until then, I'm going a long way
I'm talkin way off Broadway
