Cold

Soulless eyes

Empty smiles

and a heart that yearns for more

head of tears

of fear and pain

and a body freezing cold

how can a world

so full of life

feel so alone

how can a world

once warm with dreams

turn dead cold

smiling memories

dead as stone

And haunts them like a ghost

sweet dreams

of sound peace

and poisons at the soul

how can a world

so full of life

feel so cold

how can a world

once warm with dreams

turn dead cold

smile they say

laugh today

and the future will unfold

breaking hearts

foggy clouds

and a will that works no more

how can i

carry on

when everything feels so forced

how can i

carry on

when time feels like it froze

so tell me now

how do i heal

when everything seems to have broke

how can i

how can a world

how can i

how can a world

be so cold

Well done. . . .

This is beautifully written, and powerful. Dripping with the emotions it was written with. It's a relief from the over pouring of butterflies and rainbows most poets paint with their words. I applaud you Ms. Echoes
