He wants to take care of me

That’s what he says all the time

And he sounds so sincere

I believe it at times

I don’t remember many things

But, oh, that unforgettable rainy night

I can still feel the fear behind that cold sheet

And the shiver when his skin made contact with my pink silk

I didn’t say a word

He has done it more than once

I still haven’t

He’s no stranger 

But I wish he was

I see him everyday

And we laugh

But when the lights are off and I close my eyes

I fear

I fear all night
