Once a shark, hunting. Feriously, most vigorously.
A fighter among strong tides, swimming through storms.
Once a man with fierce pride, strong smile.
Once a man, feeling alive.
Where once he walked, dreaming, believing.
Where once he stood and felt no pain.
A daughters pride never yields, keeps shining,
through a wooden dragon cain.
Growing older, still living, lying in pain.
Disease ridden heart ache, brittle legs.
Adjusted, but never nearly enough.
Every measure of action, a struggle to adjust.
Once a man with happy thoughts,
Always a fighter, fierce with pride.
Once a father who smiled as he tought.
Now losing a battle to the disease inside.
Once a daughter who never cared.
Who never took the time to share,
all the wonderful things in my life,
I shut him out, turned out the light.
Once a man who was happy inside.
Once a man filled with vital life.
Once a man who didn't know his daughter.
Now I am all he knows by his side.
