Alone,
I dream,
As if they are subconscious wishes.
Bearing the sarrow I wait for our reunion.
Antisipation creeps upon me
As each day goes by.
I am inching closer to you.
You look into my eyes
And as I look back
I see they are crystal clear.
No gruesome lies,
No jealous rage,
No unpure thoughts,
Just love.
They twinkle with egar happiness
That suits your laughing smile.
I have no worries or no fears
Because your eyes are crystal clear.
Starting a poem with the words alone and dream you seem to tell your audience right from the start that all you say is just a wish and it is untrue but your initial confession is forgotten by the intensely simple beauty of the words that follow. I’ve seen you do this before and it confused me he first time but I learned my lesson. Even now you long to be loved, to know someone to the fullest extent, to understand their every thought and every move. This is why you often ask, and I seldom answer because the things we learn from words are false. They can not, because of their structure, ever fully explain a thought or an action. To understand you discover for yourself. I never wish to lie to you. My words may from time to time but my actions never will. Your words are beautiful, and they can help me understand a lot about you, but I learn much more by being with you. Tell me of this double meaning that I am not seeing. I would like to learn!
Caitlin,
I like this poem a lot. It is very vivid, very picturesque. It is almost like a moving picture stamped onto paper. What is the double meaning, I wonder? I guess that'll just be one of those artist secrets. Keep writing, so I can keep reading!
