a moonbeam layed

Poetry

There's a light mist raining down on me,

And I cannot help but think of you,

There's stardust on my upturned face,

And a silk smile I cannot undo.

I feel a moonbeam layed across my shoulders,

And a kiss I can taste on my lips,

There are smooth stones layerd upon my soul,

Taken from the river where I tripped,

Into your arms, to rest in your heart,

And to sleep inside your smile,

To lay on blankets, fresh and clean,

And dream there for awhile.

What dreams could be as sweet as mine?

Oh, certainly no love could be as true,

This embrace of our is knotted tight,

Chances of undoing it are few.

The twisted steal clasped on my wrist,

Is engraved with your beautiful name,

Though through clearcut glass you look,

The light you hold is still the same.

Unspoiled by the world, you are,

Unchained from being numb,

The world could never sing a song,

Like the one to me you hummed.

And though words cannot slip around your pain,

And carry it here to me,

My arms will slip around your waist,

And offer you some peace.
