Just for a day.
I know I cannot have you,
but it makes me feel important.
And I keep this sweetness,
Tucked away under lock and key,
In my chest, in my heart,
You are the only one who deserves it,
Who can find it.
Just for a day,
That's all I ask.
I take hold of these dreams;
I cannot let them get out-of-control or grow wild,
They would fly away home, to you;
I am afraid I could not catch them.
The same way I cannot catch,
these tears you bring on.
Please,
Just for a day;
They may stop flowing then.
I ask nothing more.
My cup is not running over;
It is not half full.....
nor even half empty.
You have no filled it;
It would only take a moment.
Just for a day.........
or eternity.
Whichever you prefer.
