Land of the Unseen Sun

Folder:
Poetry

Hopes are sparse, and dreams are wasted,

In the land of the unseen sun,

It seems like days are already ending,

When they've only just begun.

Love is fruitless, like the barren trees,

And troubles drag on too long,

I don't know if I'll ever escape,

From the land of the unseen sun.

Herats are heavy, as are the burdens,

That we carry every day,

But in the land of the unseen sun, it seems,

Those burdens never go away.

In the land of the unseen sun, we pray,

That we will someday know,

The simple joy of being loved,

And not having a care to show.

So finally, I am vaguely aware,

That happiness can yet be mine,

And as I leave the land of the unseen sun,

I silently wave goodbye.
