Crumpled up promises on a broken floor,

I cry, as you slam the door,

You know too well all the words I never said,

I'm afraid all the happiness went to my head.

I tried to be everything to you.

But ultimately, i failed,

All those precious moments,

Feel like a faded trail,

And all the unfullfilled promises,

Echo through my mind,

It all comes back to you,

I'm in a prison: confined.



The puzzle pieces slide into place,

Those angry words I have to face,

Our love is over, that's for sure,

I won't whisper love poetry anymore.

The deep blue sky comes crashing down,

My world has changed: you're not around,

A fleeting glimpse, what could've been,

I fall to pieces all over again.
