The End

Poetry

A quiet "I love you" whispered in the dark,

A hesitant kiss, a slow, sad smile,

A single tear on a lonely face,

A silence that drags on for miles,

A heartfelt "I'm sorry" is spoken,

Another romance left in the dust,

A hand on her cheek, looking into his eyes,

A desire to love him, but a broken trust,

A missing piece, a hopeful glance,

A dream never meant to come true,

A silent dissonance, a simple goodbye,

A million promises never seen through,

A subtle dismissal, blinking back the tears,

No way to ease the painful heartache,

The chilling truth, a realization,

A futile attempt to stop the heartbreak,

A line crossed, no turning back now,

Little forgiving, even less forgetting,

A tainted love, and heartrending story,

The end; that is what he is getting.
