Tiger, Tiger

Queen of the jungle

Commander of the weak

I see in your golden depths

All that is, all that will be

Come to me in all your terrible glory

Creep silently into my room

Curl up beside my sleeping form

And whisper dreams of a far off paradise into my ear

Wind your body around me

Cloaking me in your living stripes

Chase off the horrors of the day

The urban jungle takes no prisoners

Sleep the day away at my side

Now, I will guard your slumber, great cat

None will disturb you as I kiss the nightmares away

Rest easy this day, beloved Queen of cats

Carry me on your back

Take the both of us back to the jungle

I will take a form like yours - a spotted white cat

And together we shall rule the jungle

Queens of the Jungle

Commanders of the Weak

Author's Notes/Comments:

I write a lot of poems to you.

Inspired by 'In the Forests of the Night' by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. And the poem 'The Tiger' by William Blake. And, of course, the greatest source of inspiration is my Tiger ♥
