Hide It

Crushing the pages I used to hide in, went through hell to have no demons left to confide in.

Watching you and resisting the urge to fight it, knowing the left road is right, I don't understand why we go right then. I bleed as a way to the hide it.

Bury our desires inside it, rewinding like we never did really find it. The scar is there, but pretend enough and the veins are just there as a way to flight or fight it.

Your emotions are the match to light it and I'm such a broken repeated fix, you hit or miss, and your heart is barely beating, as you struggle to continue a story that ends just like this.

I want to fall like the rain, I want to love like I can't change, but we never fell in love, we just fell apart. We love like weapons sing, so take aim and shoot me through the heart.

Love can be complicated, but

Love can be complicated, but how well you turned the cyclone of the human condition into remarkable art! You spun some impressive word play in this hard-driving expression:

"Crushing the pages I used to hide in . . ."

"you struggle to continue a story that ends just like this"

"We love like weapons sing"

And my favorite:

"I want to love like I can't change"

It's true that, most often, we just need to leave our creations alone, but I enjoyed where you went with this. A pleasure to read and comment on.
