I wonder if we would hold on to each other as tight
If we knew we wouldn't have to let go
I asked innocently enough
And you answered,
I don't know.
I wonder if our legs would wrap around each other as tight,
If we didn't think we'd have to walk away
I put forth innocently enough.
And you replied,
I'm not sure.
One thing you were sure of
Was that you didn't know where this was going
But you were going with it
Of the one thing you knew
Was that you didn't know where we were heading
But you were headed that way.
I wonder all the time if my glance can always intrigue you
If you saw it all the time
I mentioned innocently enough
And you gathered me up in your arms
And say I haven't a clue, baby.
I no longer wonder if
I'll have to let you go
I no longer wonder if
My legs will want to wander
I no longer guard my eyes
To hide what I am feeling
Cuz I know
You set out to find the ocean
And crossed the mountains instead.
You set out to discover gold
And unearthed diamonds
You set out to gather prey
And harvested a partner
You set out to master your emotions
And lowered your sights on me.
I am the treasure that you seek
The one that uncovers when you least expect
I tell you innocently enough
And hold my breath as you begin to speak
"Of this my dear, I do agree."
Another great piece of writing...the wonderment of each other, never knowing what the future holds, but knowing that we needn't look any further..for our treasure is right before us all this time.
Beautifully written once again...keep writing, you have a wonderful gift with words and express yourself perfectly.
