we were fed lies
the glass that protected us from the outside
wasnt showing us the true insides
it didnt tell us that we were on the outside looking in
we saw the torture, the tears of no gurantee
the poverty, the pretty rainbows that somehow meant otherwise
not peace but a fake quality sign of what should happen
but it never did
believe that we were tricked to see what wasnt real
wen real was the only thing tht surrounded us
having no where to turn to
calling out to people who cant be trusted
letting the world try to take care of you
wen it barely holding its own
at one point we were supposed to stand grown and ready
but as soon as we walk out that door
what was hiden from us is revealed
its no longer puppies and barney shows
its the nightmares we thot werent possible
that was the biggest reality of it all
the pain was real
the destruction was real
the screaming was real
the crying was real
the shield that was put ovr us to protect wat we shudnt see
kept us frm the truth
this world bent reality
