Requiem

It's the sun streaming from your windows,

That I miss the most.

It's the color of your skin below your shirt,

That I miss the most.

It's the way your hair falls in your eyes when you laugh,

That I miss the most.

It's the way your eyes seem to gleam whenever you smile,

That I miss the most.

When I'd lay in your bed,

Staring up at you,

There was nothing negative in my mind.

Just the way that you carried yourself,

Was enough to make me smile and wish to be happy.

But it all came crashing down.

Those lips which I used to kiss remained stuck in a frown.

My smile slowly faded away as well,

And your bed was from then on a location that was avoided.

But it was lovely while it lasted,

Everything that is beautiful always dies.

Nothing that good ever lasts forever.

It all just withers away eventually..
