There was a time where bears ruled the world. Every other creature respected them as their superiors, except for some that were jealous of their power. They took care of the world. The Bear King was responsible for keeping the planet running and had a lot of responsibilities.
In order to keep the planet alive, they had to keep it in the right temperature and in order to do so, the Bear King had to go the center of the Earth at least one day every week and blow cold air so that the planet would not get too hot and come to an end. Not everyone was able to do this task, they had to be really strong. Which is one of the reasons that bears were one of the few animals that could do it and had been responsible for this since the beginning of times. Wolves could also deal with this task and they were jealous of the bears; they had been wishing to take away the power from the bears, so they were always looking for any opportunity to do so.
The Bear King had two sons, the oldest one was really smart, but he was kind of lazy and cared mainly for himself. The other son was really young, he was just some years old, but he had a pretty good sense of responsibility. The Bear King had taught the oldest of his sons how to keep the planet alive and had taken him to the center of the Earth many times to watch how the task had to be done. One day, the King died. So the oldest son had to be the new ruler.
He was really excited to be the new king since he had great power and everyone did what he ordered. He started forgetting about the responsibilities of his job, he just spent all day sleeping and eating honey. The youngest son started getting worried when his brother, the new king, did not go to the center of the Earth to blow cold wind, after the first week since their father’s death and told his brother that he had to go or bad things would happen, but the king told him that he would do it tomorrow. But tomorrow came and he did not do it. Every day he would say the same thing, leaving his job for the next day. Another week passed, and things started getting out of control, bad things were happening everywhere, the end seemed near, and the wolves noticed. Days went by and everyone in the bear community started to rebel against the new king for not doing his job, because everybody knew that for the third week everything would be over. So the wolves took this opportunity to be the new rulers. For when the new King Bear wanted to do something, it was too late, he had left his job for the end and almost caused the destruction of the world.
Moral: Don’t be lazy and leave the things you can do today for later.
