Ashes

Quiet calmness blends

emotions everlasting

Understand now

without my pain

from God

they may

have refrained

One voice carries

shared hurts

of two

causes an ember

to flicker

in a dark

life

And though the pain remains

the cost of love lost

becomes trivial

when thoughts

of being

without them...are remembered

My eyes did adore you

and never have I

been more

wrong...

Your love did inspire

emotional ramblings

on bits of paper

for a lost lunatic

could only

transcribe

what

empty

feels

There will be no march

no veil to lift

no touch

to feel

or dance

to dance

for love is dead

All that remains...are the ashes

lovely work .

JWell said. It reminds me of one of my own poem's, "Love's Requiem". Only someone who had experienced it could know the pain involved in the death of a love. I don't mean the body is dead--the LOVE is dead. There's a big difference. I like your work very much.

I feel as if I'm sitting off to the side listening and watching my own world when I read of yours. Thank you so much for sharing these lovely verses.

Wow, Dennis.
Sounds like you lost a love. It's a hard thing. But you poetry comes thru the fire and ashes like a beautiful phoenix. I'm enjoying your pages very much.
