When Forever Is Over

Tonight I was asked

“Whatever happened to”

looked down as I hoisted my glass

as the memories hit me from the past

'Twas all I could do

to muster a shake of my head

change the subject of you

and color it dead

thought to myself,

“When forever’s over

I won’t remember

how much I loved you anymore”

Oh, love was the most intoxicating

memories of us even more

as I looked at my guest contemplating

of telling our tale I wondered what for

just let jack black answer

of loves lost dancer…for

“when forever is over

I won’t remember

how much I loved you anymore”

When this bird has flown

endured more pain than humanly known

and I sit there with thought of why

I shed no tear

or wonder how high

I will fly

without you there

to be my sky

For there will be no

psychology ,theology, or apology

For you and I…or

for...

when forever

is over,

I... won’t remember

How much…I loved you anymore

Author's Notes/Comments:

This inspired by a line from one of my favorites, Alison Krauss.
Seems she speaks directly to me...awesome "Forget about it"
