Your asleep beneath the moon
Sipping my wine, I close my eyes
I can almost hear you breath
Yet I'm a thousand miles away
Your silence is earth shattering
My thoughts that never really mattered
seek solace from remembered song
Must I dance this dance again?
The tune I've learned every bar
Sang the refrain over and over
Surely you mustn't retouch the scars?
Leaving your wake, of bitterness and pain
How can I question this again?
For even the shadows that danced upon the wall
have left me, esconced their view,
to only a dream, remembered
The wine with the violin, bestow upon my muse
Love lies waiting, clinging to the scars, like wet to rain
Eyes that once were new, look inward...to my tired soul
yearning for what is true
And passion, that once ruled our very existence
now lays in our indefinite moratorium
Perhaps to be seen, in a 4th dimension
While we fall asleep, one last time forever...beneath our saddened Moon.
