Fall

Folder:
darkness

I stare into the abyss
Admiring the rocks on the wall
One more little step
To take a free form fall
I feel the wind touch my face
Seemingly to nudge me on the way
Should I take the plunge
Is he guiding me today?
A little closer I edged
Gazing on the bottom below
One more little push
And down I’ll go.
It all seems so surreal
To just take a little fly
What the heck am I thinking!
Today, I really don’t want to die.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon it kind of makes you wish we could fly.
It is just so beautiful and seems to want to pull a person in. That is what this poem is trying to express the beauty of it all and the temptation to observe even more.
