• Why did I think this was a good idea?
• Am I gonna die? I'm gonna die.
• My guts are gonna go everywhere.
• WHY DID I OPEN THAT WINDOW?
• Should have gone to the movie with my gal.

Okay, so far so good. I'm on the ledge, let's go. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, shuffle. Slow and steady wins the race. Okay, good, I'm at the corner where my paper is stuck. How am I gonna grab it? I've got an idea! Okay. Slowly bend your knees, make sure your weight is towards the building and not over the ledge. Just reach a little father. HOLY MACKEREL! Okay Tom, just about killed yourself. Am I an idiot? Why did I do this? When would I have ever thought this was a brilliant idea? Okay. Let's try and go back to the window before I kill myself. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle, shuffle. NO! That stupid window. Why did it have to shut?! Why did I have to come out here? I'm an idiot. I'm definitely gonna die. Yep, I'm gonna fall and my guts are just gonna go everywhere. It's just gonna go everywhere, and no one will know why I was out here, and then Clare is gonna be devastated and, and, and...... Wait.... Maybe I can get that window back open, maybe I can survive. Okay, push up, push up harder. Well. Guess I'm gonna die, at least it'll be quick. I bet Clare isn't even at the movies, she's probably cheating on me.

?????

Did Clare close and lock the window? Was the "paper" a suicide note?

Out On A Ledge - I often wonder about electric chairs and death by injection (fortunately Michigan is not a corporal punishment state). Still, there are doctors who know how to put a person to sleep so that they do not wake up ever - no pain and quick. On death row for ten to twenty years is punishment enough. It would be cheaper too and we save that electricity for future generations. I'm just missing the point again. I liked the write ~Lady A~
