There once was a woman named Abigail dear.
She would sing to the rafters, as all the men cheered.
Sold all of her time, for their money as they leered
and all seemed so very well.
She often waited for the chorus to come around.
And swayed to that haunting melancholy sound.
Then gave everything from deep within,
hanging on to every word.
Then as the night buried underneath.
All the men would rise to there feet.
And applaud for her reward, at all they had seen,
as she would take here final bow.
But there was one man who grew fond of her calling.
And he would stay and wait for the falling
of the night and beyond till the morning.
For anything that she would give.
And his name was Jack the kid.
He was a loner and always hid,
from peoples chatter and greeting eyes.
From their masks and wherefores and whys.
And she too, knew that he had fell hard.
For her heart now still remains scarred
from that day when she turned him away.
As It was another, that she was fond.
Jack knew it so, for he saw in her eyes
love else-where and to his hearts demise.
That she didn't care for him any at all,
now that was the beginning of his fall.
For bitter he grew from being neglected,
as his fleeting glances were always rejected.
And the pain that came as expected,
he shared one day, with her heart.
For as her lover went for a walk one night.
Underneath the lack of light,
he grabbed her gent from behind
and in the blink of an eye, concluded his life...
Now Jack was happy , for he dreamt of a change,
that Abigail dear would take his embrace.
Now that she was free of her lovers eyes and his face,
all would be so very well.
But the next day as the morning was ending.
It was only pain that she was sending,
all around and deep into his soul he looked -
For guilty he was for the actions he took.
So now he had nothing, not her, nor his grace.
For he had done wrong and now the truth he must face.
To end his pain and Abigail dears,
he took his own life and finished his tears.
There once was a woman named Abigail dear.
She never sang anymore for she always feared
that she would be loved by those who leered.
Thus, alone she stayed until her days disappeared.
