Please Come Home!

It's saturday morning
and there's no one around.
My mind won't shut up!
and the rain is coming down.

I turn to some better place,
a memory of wine laughter and grace,
of glancing eyes
and a meaningfull smile.

So long ago now,
I can't remember how,
or why,
you ever did loved me so.

And even to this day,
I think that I was blessed, though I never did prey.
I Was given more than my share
when I found you.

I remember one late summer;
The heat was oppressive,
it was angry and scorn,
as we sat beside the hawthorn trees.

You turned to me
and said the most beautiful words.
They took me beyond myself,
beyond my life before.

And as it started to rain,
as the skein cries echoed all around,
we looked up and we looked down.
Then we stood and danced to the nothing at all.

I'd never known of this before,
a love, a smile and a kiss;
A thought to await for my last breath,
for my dying day.

And now.....

I'm not sure that I can stay,
watching this clock tick away.
I'm not sure that I can wait for that moment
to hold you in my arms again.

It's saturday morning
and there's no one around.
My mind won't shut up!
and the rain is coming down.

Please come home!
