The love I hope to believe in

offers real attention

when cold shoulders bear icicles

and a warm compliment

or an able hand to gently rub the back of your neck 

palpably makes life more okay in any humble moment

The demeanor I wished more men pursued

is of a true gentleman

and

while searching for love 

A true gentleman should make his interests known

then simply offer time

and

space

Others should expect your trusty mettle 

and time is the only welder 

And if they like what you've built

and have to offer

you cannot half-ass what comes next. 

Accept yesterday, but commit to right now

and cherish everything.

Even the horseshit. 

Trust in love remains eternally more meaningful

than anything Sony, Disney, or Nintendo could ever offer 

So I'll cut to the chase, young gamers

and insist upon you now 

that attempting to use your brain

in matters of love 

is often futile and massively inefficient

Rely on your heart 

and develop how you love along the way

Understand that love is not confined to the tangible properties on this blue marble

understand there is no spoon.

I recommend choosing to inhabit an infinite world

even when every single exterior force on this planet denies you.

Be the rock when tides swell

and be the light when all's well
