Placidity

Folder:
2014

For most of us

there come sacred moments that occur from time to time

moments of tranquility and benevolence

when all the demons in our heads subside for an hour or two

and you can melt away and roll with a great fluidity and carelessness

like water down the road, or a petal off a rose

In these moments you tell yourself about all the great mysteries

all the things that you spend the rest of your days contemplating in the dark

Am I living a fulfilling life?

Do I provide enough attention and affection for loved ones?

Am I working to correct all the mistakes I've made?

Where do we fit in this massive social ecosystem?

The placidity emerges from ease of mind

In my instance, perhaps I may bear no fruit

but my words can hopefully wield truth

to those cast on a distant shore

or within this heart and mind in the days of yore

when the demons in your head

when the demons in your head subside and you can melt away and roll with carelessness... despite the intriguing title this is much more than it seems. Great write, enjoyed it!
