Longing for Desired to say yes to me
Walking aimless through this desert for a year, two, or three
Looking for a home in our only life
The ache of this nomadic heart doesn't subside
You see, I set on this path with a dollar and a dream
Blazed a trail hell bent solo, told nobody I'd leave
Before I figured out there's little left with wounded eye
When the dollar's all gone and the dream waves goodbye
All the while, what I've done
hidden from plain sight underneath my weary sleeve
Despite the accomplishments galore
and the many achievements achieved
I found out too late it takes two to fly
above the plateaued thresholds of a solemn guy
So I'll trek back now, back to common grounds
See all the familiar faces, buy all familiar rounds
I longed once for Desired to say yes to me
defeated
I've come back now and I'm never destined to leave
"...a dollar and a dream..."
That's figuratively brave. Nice line! - allets -
