And make no rival tonight
Freely staring into tranquilizing pools
These lovely portals of enthralling nature
emerald or cocoa,
hazel or steel
or winter blue
while waxing poetic of our past deeds
Existing to be in the presence of this audience
I will sign on the dotted line for this every day...
To sit under these restaurant lights
and reminisce about our wooden grooves
and how we carved ourselves out of raw materials
into forces of nature

I don't know how 'awesome' I am but I appreciate the compliment :) all I can really add is that I make every effort to write from the heart, I try to see either the beauty or the tragedy of a situation and try to convey it as best I can, that's probably my best definition of poetry..at least how I interpret it.
