Ode to the Maggot

It bubbled as it was trying to breath

In the middle where the sides couldn't be reached

It twitched it's legs trying to escape

It's whole life was slowly being raped

It held still never to move again

It's life was over before it began

The red turned brown and as thick as mud

As the fly drowned in the pool of my blood
