Consumed

The world has become a desolate graveyard

As the loss of loved ones has left me scarred

Look at what I've done, what I've driven them to

Eventually I would lose them all, this I knew

Out in the darkness, a figure appears to me

She is crouched down, crying like a banshee

Others are frightened by this; they run away

Something inside me draws me to her; I stay

When approached she goes on the defensive

Yet flashes me a smile that is rather pensive

Gone are her tears, she hides them so well

I look into her eyes; she has been through hell

I take a step closer, as she begins to accept

She tells me of all the pain that she has kept

But just as quickly as it began, it is finished

Darkness consumes her, yet her light is not diminished
