Trapezoid Towers

Folder:
Devil's Gate

Deep in the West
High on the hill
When the sun goes down
The Devil's Fog filters through Cthulhu trees
In the forest still
There stands a shadow in the mist
Diabolical dominant mass
Framed by moonlight

A serpentine path
Leads to the megalith
Dares you to enter
The Reaper's pass...

Beware The Devil's car
Drive you straight to Hell
Those who have been before
Plunged into the fiery pit

Decapitated driver
And the lost girl
Warning of ruination
Beckoning you to join them
Roadside apparitions
To never rest...

Trapezoids, Parallelograms
Secrets & Mysteries
Reflections, projections
Whispers in the dark
Nothing is what it seems...

Shadows on the mountain
Howls in the night
Shadows in the window
As the candles grow high...

Portraits & ornate paintings
They seem to move at night
Eyes follow through the room
The people in the gloom
The Spider Lady spins...

Ghoulish specters in the hallway
Skeletal phantoms in white
Chanting, echoing
Scent of the grave...

Trapezoid Towers
Where time stands still
Memories alive again
The past is present here
Forever one...

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written on the night of the June Solstice XLVIII by the shadow demon lamp, accompanied by Nero the black cat watching from the window sill, and the sounds of howling coyotes nearby.

Crafty.

Everywhere you had flashes of inspiration.
A very sly read.
I absolutely enjoyed it.

Thank you.

So pleased to read you enjoyed the relation. Indeed, inspiration may spawn in some of the most unexpected places. So many interesting impressions that it had to be committed to poetry. The fertile mind will yield its own Magic. ∞
