Scavengers, Us All.

The sizzle of a matchstick, like the sound of a kill.
Brings scavengers hoping for the scraps of your thrill.
Your breath is still stained with that cigarette smoke,
and you're beautiful now that your heart's been all broke.

Lust for the days of your glorious youth,
when love wasn't sold from a peddler's booth.
Content to pick bones, and savor each bite,
of the meat from the love at the end of the night.

Wake up each morning, to the gaze of new eyes,
and tuck them to sleep with the most beautiful lies.
You'll have me through winter, while my heart sleeps away,
and lose me in summer, when old songs have their sway.

I've broken all chains, and made due with the past.
The future will hold me, the present's too fast.
You'll go your own way, and I'll do what I do,
because now when I sing, I ain't singing for you.

Hmm..

"Wake up each morning, to the gaze of new eyes,
and tuck them to sleep with the most beautiful lies."

How black, white, and lonely.
Exhausting non the least.
The same lie every night for the face is never the same.
The story starts to get dull doesn't it?
I hope one day you find a pair of eyes that never change.
^_^
