Tell me why I've spent the last

ten years trying to kill myself

(didnt try *that* hard I guess)

Can you guess?

Looking out from behind the glass

sitting pretty behind a desk

now paper cuts are about as bad as it gets.

but oh the old days,

ditching school to avoid gym class

cant get into the pool

with all of those cuts on your back.

Hey at least you're coping

letting out the pain anyway you can

between rubbing alcohol and a bottle of jack

repeat the 10th grade

like you're so much better than that.

So i've made it

to a place i dont belong

so i fit in

because you've brought me along

i'm watching him drink now

right out of the wine bottle -

jacket in my trunk

too afraid to let go of the past -

that seems pretty normal.

But the girl with the short hair cut

and the guy smoking out of an apple??

Generic appliances i dont recognize

just another metaphor

for how fake it all is.

Or maybe i'm just uneducated ..

So work your 90 hours a week

while i sit here and pay for my mistakes

take a drag from your cigarette

since you're all carbon copies

all doing the same things-

The only thing that scares me more than

feeling left out

is selling out to fit in .
