Homeless

Into each life some rain must fall

that’s all right if you have a home

I own no floor no roof nor wall

I find my shelter as I roam.

Of late I sleep beneath a tree

beside the trail and out of sight.

Its branches could not cover me

when the rain came down last night.

When you see me on the street

a beggar clad in shabby clothes

please toss a coin at my cold feet

before you turn and hold your nose.

Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS

You have put a lot of wisdom

You have put a lot of wisdom into this ballad, and your command of the form is very adroit.  I applaud your accomplishment in this poem.
