Autumn Haiku

Bitter-sweet sunshine
slants down through barren branches.

Leaves crunch underfoot.

Flowers hang their heads.
Waves wash up on lonely shore.
Woods are quiet now.

No time for regrets.
Leave summer's memories behind.
Autumn's drear awaits.

Gun-metal sky looms.

Dark clouds scud and swirl on high.
Keep walking, don't stop.

Revisiting this, I find it

Revisiting this, I find it just as beautiful, brilliant, and poignant as the first time I read it.
