Sitting alone on the rocky shore my
thoughts are fragmented, shattered
mesmerized as I watch the full moon
reflecting off the water like a mirror
some where out there is a old couple
sitting quietly on the front porch swing
content to saying nothing listening to the
oak leaves rustling in the breeze
no need to talk they've been together long
enough to know each others thoughts
two star struck lovers walking hand in hand
fingers intertwined words of beauty and poetry
softly spoken
I love you whispered into a perfumed neck
oblivious to they'er surroundings or the hour
of the night
there is a blushing young girl and a boy who've
just tasted they'er first kiss and started a fire inside
with no idea of how to put it out in the romance of the
moon
oh how I wish i could feel that way
but here I sit alone with the company of only a dog
looking at the full moon an seeing the craters and scars
from its past thinking it's like my heart no life on it's surface
I think I would cry ...... But that well is dry

The Poet Speaks
"...no life on its surface..." an emotion rending line indeed ~slc~
