scratching out words of love in the sand
watching the wind erase it without lifting a hand
words she'll never see
words I'll never repeat
I stare up at the gloomy sky
there'snot a single star in sight as the perpetual
darkness fall's
I wonder does the coming of night torment her aching soul
as it does mine
does she stare out into the nothingness wishing I was there
as loneliness mocks
does she scratch out words of love in the sand
watching the wind erase it without lifting a hand
words I'll never see
words she'll never repeat
