I sit an watch the sun receding toward the horizon
as surely as fire eventually exhausts itself
waiting until I can no longer ignore the inevitable
I set out on dead reckoning searching for the lair of 
the beast
the hounds of hell are screaming into a void 
of swirling darkness at the edge of the world
they know I'm here but can they sense what I'm here to do
a nauseating fear seeps into My being slowly taking it's grip 
upon My soul
I must tonight face an kill the beast before it kills Me

there is no trail to follow no evidence of a earlier passage
just the indistinct voices of the demons whispering in My ear
it's not courage that makes Me go on it's the knowing I'm already
damned
by the dark of the moon with no stars in the sky I stand at the 
entrance of the beast's domain
I hold on to the blade of cold steel tightly to tamp this fear
into a safe place . while clutching to a semblance of control over a world 
spinning utterly out of control
this is not done consciously but yielded from a carefully controlled
fear of the unknown 

why do I know this voice coming from within 
well are you going to come in
terrified but knowing there is nowhere left to run I stepped inside
horrified I want to scream but no sound will cross these trembling
lips
the beast stares serenely with those yellow green eye's 
cold unwavering calculating with just a hint of amusement
so you set out upon your quest to kill the beast 
only to find you are Me
oh that's got to be choice

so now what are you going to do

the darkness wraps it's self around Me once more
as the screams finally escape My lips
