Love can be oh so cruel a thing
you can learn to live with someone
an out of that a love can grow

but theres that one you just can't explain
by no choice of yours
no rhyme or reason why
you just know
without any drama no strings attached
you're in love

this does not mean you get to live
happily ever after by no means
it's more in line of living in hell
it could be as simple as the feelings
are not shared
or as complicated as more than best friends
but yet not lovers

call it fate... or cruelty in my mind
you're separated by thousand's of miles
an a handful of borders
by both reality and mind
time goes by day by day then they turn into years

haunted by memories an the what ifs
not a day go's by that their not on your mind
you lay there at night an wonder why
constantly wanting to go back in time
to fix whatever was broken
to undo whatever was done

grief stricken once more you realize
even if you could you wouldn't
for to many others would be hurt an broken
like I said you can learn to love another
it may not be as Strong but it's the most important
especially to that child your holding

haunted by memories bound by reality
I believe in love.......
but I also believe it can be cruel
